Cephalexin is used in the treatment of skin or soft tissue infection; bacterial infection; upper respiratory tract infection; bladder infection; prostatitis (and more), and belongs to the drug class first generation cephalosporins. There is no proven risk in humans during pregnancy. Cephalexin 500 mg is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Substance Act (CSA).
