Does anyone have experience with this and most importantly, foes it go away? Went through a horrible w/d from MAO's that lasted 2 months and the Brintellix is helping a great deal. Looking for hope this itching gets better or not worse.
Vortioxetine - I have itching on Brintellix 10 mgs. Not constant. Random parts of my body?

Hi hoffma1,
Itching is certainly widely reported side effect and can last for a few weeks but it usually goes away. I myself experienced some Itching when I first started Vortioxetine (Brintellix) and again after upping the dosage. I have read that some people take Benadryl to combat this side effect. I tried Piriton which is another brand of Antihistamine which helped a bit although my main issue was not itching as such but Pins and Needles which almost drove me mad(der).
If you have any concerns or you find the itching doesn't go away after a few weeks I would always recommend you raise the issue with the Healthcare Professional/s treating you. Good luck.
Thank you for your response. Another question. Did you noticed a "hyped" feeling after a few weeks? Waking up after a few hours of sleep and not being able to go back to sleep? If so does it pass? I was taken off for a week and restarted (makes no sense to me at all) which is why I am on this panel as I feel I get better answer. My psych Doc isn't much help and rushes through. Can't find another one as yet (not enough that except insurance, presently paying out of pocket).
@hoffma1 - Yes I'm edgy as hell, however soon after I was moved onto Vortioxitine I was also started on Concerta XL (for suspected Adult ADHD) so it's frustratingly difficult to tell which med is causing which symptom. However my gut feel is that I was getting the edgy just before I started the Concerta.
Thank you Hofmat for posting.
I started Trintellix a few weeks ago and the itching has just started. I would like to hang in too, as I have been on several antidepressants.

Reassuring to hear that other people are itchy too. I have also recently moved up to 10mg and started itching like a dog with fleas, especially my hands and ankles.
Have taken antihistamines but hasn’t helped much. I’ve only been on this medication for 2 weeks, so remains to be seen whether it will work for me, or if the itching goes away. Fingers crossed.
if anyone knows how to get this itching to stop please help! Anti-histamines are not working and I am dying over here. Let me know!
