Usual Adult Dose for Actinic Keratosis
One application and one dose of illumination per treatment site per 8 week treatment session
Duration of therapy: Treated lesions that have not completely resolved after 8 weeks may be treated a second time.
Comments:
- Each individual aminolevulinic acid topical solution should be used for only one patient.
- Photodynamic therapy is a two stage process involving application of the product followed 14 to 18 hours later by illumination with blue light using the BLU-U Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy Illuminator.
Use: Treatment of minimally to moderately thick actinic keratoses of the face or scalp

Administration advice:
- Actinic keratosis targeted for treatment should be clean and dry prior to application.
- This solution is intended for direct application to individual lesions not to perilesional skin.
- This solution is not intended for application by patients or unqualified medical personnel.
- Application should involve scalp or face lesions but not both simultaneously.
Storage requirements:
- The solution should be used immediately following preparation.
- Solution application should be completed within 2 hours of preparation; an applicator not used within this time should be discarded.
Reconstitution/preparation techniques: The manufacturer product information should be consulted.
Patient advice:
- After solution is applied, the treated actinic keratosis should be kept dry and out of bright light, and light-protective clothing should be worn.
