No, don’t cut or crush Briviact tablets. According to the manufacturer, Briviact tablets should only be swallowed whole with liquid. If you are having trouble swallowing the tablets, Briviact also comes in an oral solution.

Can Briviact tablets be cut in half?

Briviact tablets aren’t scored, which is one reason why they shouldn’t be cut in half. Without a line to cut on, you could take the wrong dose. Another reason you shouldn’t cut Briviact tablets is because they are coated in a special film. When you split the tablets, you could change the way they work in your body and cause an unpleasant taste.

Can you crush Briviact tablets?

No, Briviact tablets shouldn’t be crushed. This could damage the film coating and cause the medication to work differently for you. You could also lose some of the dose by crushing the tablets into a powder. There is an oral solution available for people who have difficulty swallowing or those who need the medication administered through a nasogastric tube or gastrostomy tube.
