Does Luxiq Foam help with hair loss?

Luxiq Foam may help with hair loss by reducing scarring and allow the hair follicles to remain active for more hair growth cycles. Studies have shown that approximately 61% of people using 0.1% betamethasone valerate foam achieved more than 75% hair regrowth in comparison with 27% using a lower strength preparation (0.05% betamethasone dipropionate lotion). Luxiq Foam contains 0.12%. betamethasone valerate. However, topical corticosteroids may be far less effective in hair-loss conditions such as alopecia totalis or alopecia universalis, compared with androgenetic alopecia (male-patterned baldness), or hair loss occurring due to skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema.

Folliculitis (inflamed hair follicles due to a bacterial or fungal infection) is a common side effect of topical corticosteroids. Telangiectasia (small, widened, blood vessels on the skin) and atrophy (skin thinning) may develop rarely. Hair regrowth with topical corticosteroids is often not permanent, with a relapse rate of 37%–63%.

Rarely, hair loss or hair thinning has been noted as a side effect of Luxiq foam.

Luxiq Foam is a prescription corticosteroid product approved to treat psoriasis, eczema, or other inflammatory conditions of the scalp. It contains betamethasone valerate 0.12%, a medium potency topical corticosteroid medicine. It is used on the scalp to help reduce inflammation, redness, swelling, tenderness and itching from corticosteroid-responsive skin conditions, such as eczema or psoriasis.
