Serious side effects of Gemtesa
Along with its needed effects, vibegron (the active ingredient contained in Gemtesa) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking vibegron:
More common
- Bladder pain
- bloody or cloudy urine
- difficult, burning, or painful urination
- frequent urge to urinate
- lower back or side pain
Incidence not known
- Decrease in the frequency of urination
- decrease in urine volume
- difficulty in passing urine (dribbling)
- itching, skin rash, encrusted, scaly and oozing
Other side effects of Gemtesa
Some side effects of vibegron may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.
Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
Less common
- Body aches or pain
- chills
- constipation
- cough or cough producing mucus
- diarrhea
- difficulty in breathing
- dry mouth
- ear congestion
- headache
- feeling of warmth
- fever
- loss of voice
- muscle aches
- nausea
- redness of the face, neck, arms and occasionally, the upper chest
- sneezing
- sore throat
- stuffy or runny nose
- tightness in the chest
- unusual tiredness or weakness

Common (1% to 10%): Upper respiratory tract infection (2 %), nasopharyngitis (2.8%)[Ref]
Nervous system
Common (1% to 10%): Headache (4%)[Ref]
Gastrointestinal
Common (1% to 10%): Diarrhea (2.2%), constipation (<2%), nausea (2.2%), dry mouth (<2%)[Ref]
